 A levels consist of two parts: 'AS' and 'A2'.
A student on
a two year course should choose up to 4 'AS' subjects in the first year
and then convert three of them into 'A2' examinations the following
year.
STANDARD TWO YEAR COURSE
This course offers students the opportunity of
studying in small classes with maximum individual attention and
development of study skills. The first year of the course will lead to
the 'AS' level examination to be taken in June. The second year will
complete the course to prepare for the 'A2' examination. Most students
will choose up to four subjects in the first year and will then take
three of them in the second year for the final ‘A2’ examination.
FIVE TERM COURSE
This course starts in January and students prepare
for the 'AS' examinations for June and then complete the course the
following June. It is a shortened version of the two year course.
ONE YEAR INTENSIVE COURSE
This course is designed for students who wish to
retake the examination or for those who are exceptionally hard working
and have excellent secondary school qualifications or for mature
students who wish to complete their studies in a shorter period of time.
The 'AS' material will be covered in time for the January examination
session and the 'A2' material will be completed in preparation for the
June examination.
RETAKES
One term, two term or one year retake courses are
available for both the AS Level and the A2 Level examinations. Students
should contact the college for details.
